As we all know, we breathe in oxygen and we breathe out carbon dioxide. However, when you wear a mask frequently, you are constantly inhaling and exhaling carbon dioxide. Did you know that this has long term consequences? In today’s episode, we are going to show you a daily hygiene routine, so you can either prevent the build up of plaque or if there is already plaque there, you can remove it before it turns into tartar.

Do you know many times a day you should brush your teeth? Ideally twice a day, and you should go for at least 3 minutes. If you are wearing a mask though, you should consider brushing your teeth 3 times a day.

Manual or electric toothbrush? Well, both work equally as good. However, since we have technology available which makes things more effective, why not use an electric one? If you choose to use a manual toothbrush, you want to use a medium sized head with medium texture, not soft bristles. Regarding the technique, you should go in small circles along the surface.

How to floss correctly? A waxed type of floss is the easiest way to floss, as it slides between the teeth with ease. The correct technique is to get the floss in between the teeth, slide to one side and drag up. Repeat the same step pushing to the other side. An air and water flosser is very effective to reach the back teeth of the mouth.

To finish, a mouthwash solution is very important to destroy any remaining micro debris that you might have left behind after brushing and flossing. It also contains fluoride that strengthens the outside of the teeth while killing any form of bacteria in your mouth.
